Avocados are a good source of fiber, potassium, and vitamins C, K, folate, and B6. Half an avocado has 160 calories, 15 grams of heart-healthy unsaturated fat, and only 2 grams of saturated fat.
Personally I am not a huge fan of avocado. I like guacamole, but I can not eat a slice of avocado. I need to add it to other things to really be able to enjoy it. If you are like me the good news is new research shows that even substituting avocado for other ingredients can be beneficial to your health.
